Bruce Williams, Age 72 of Eminence, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family after fighting cancer. Son of the late Meliscca Mae (Marshall) and Joseph George Williams, he was born on June 8, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky. A hardworking man his entire life, he worked at the Phillip Morris Tobacco Manufacturing Company in Louisville for 30 years. Upon his retirement, he became a plumber and worked for Crestwood Plumbing for several years. Bruces’ talents were endless, from being an amazing cook to a masterful woodworker, he could do it all. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bruce dedicated his life to his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, C.L. Williams; his sister, Patricia Brooks; and two grandchildren, Brayden Wheeler and Colston Melton.
His survivors include his son, Joey Williams of Owenton; his daughters, Kim Melton (Thomas) of Pendleton, and Missy Wheeler (John) of Pleasureville; his 11 grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Blake Williams, Alex Clifton, Austin Williams, Tabitha Black, Alex Tindle, Samantha Melton, Landon Melton, Dyllion Wheeler, Chris Wheeler and Jason Wheeler; his 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Catherine Woosley of West Point.
In accordance with his wishes, Bruce was cremated. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life. To honor Bruces’ memory the family asks memorial contributions to be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 502 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105. With care and professionalism, arrangements are under the direction of Beckley Funeral Home.
