Dottie Troxell, Age 84 of Monticello, formerly of Pleasureville, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Born on Tuesday, August 4, 1942, to the late Nelson Homer and Flora Mae (Jones) Morrow, she grew up in Monticello with her 8 brothers and sisters. She married her husband, Johnny Edward Troxell on Saturday, December 19, 1959, and together they had four children. They moved to Pleasureville shortly after their children were born and lived in town most of their lives before moving back home to Monticello. A sweet Christian woman, Dottie was a longtime member at Pleasureville Baptist Church for many years and was actively involved in many ministries over the years. Most recently, she was a member at Fall Creek United Baptist Church in Monticello. She retired from Middletown Manufacturing and became a caregiver to the elderly in the community. Dottie was loved by all who knew her, but especially her family and grandchildren, who called her “granny”. When not taking care of her family, she enjoyed cooking and visiting with friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Bruce “Blue” Troxell; daughter, Sharon Rose (Troxell) Soderbom; brothers, Stokie Morrow, Milford Morrow, Reed Morrow, and Cecil Morrow; and sisters, Zina Harris, Juanita Morrow, and Wanda Morrow.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Troxell of Monticello; sons, Phillip Troxell (Liz) of Burnside, and Wade Troxell (Christy) of New Castle; grandchildren, Nelson Troxell (Heather) of Carrollton, Justin Troxell of Pendleton, Cassandra “Cassie” Schaefer (Matt) of Louisville, Christopher Troxell (Tiffiany) of New Castle, David Troxell (Courtney) of Crestwood, Amanda Borel (Christopher) of Campbellsburg, and Katherine Jones of Scottsburg; brother, Homer Morrow (Janice) of Monticello, and 21 great-grandchildren,.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Beckley Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Downing of Pleasureville Baptist Church Officiating. Private Interment will follow in the Pleasureville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Beckley Funeral Home to help the family with Funeral Expenses. With Care and Professionalism, arrangements are under the direction of Beckley Funeral Home.
