Evelyn Hughes Sanford

Evelyn Hughes Sanford, age 73, of Pleasureville, KY passed away Monday, August 7, 2023, at U or L Jewish Hospital. She was born on December 5, 1949, in, the daughter of William H. Hughes and Virginia Tindall Hughes. Evelyn was a member of Shelby Christian Church and a former cook at the Pleasureville Food Mart.  

She is survived by two daughters; Jenny Oray (Leonard) of Sheffield Lake, OH, and Kristen Woods (Shannon Clubb) of Pleasureville, KY, one son; Stephen McClain of Louisville, KY, three sisters; Robbin Stodghill (Craig) of Waddy, KY, Suzanne Moore (Terry) of Pleasureville, KY, and Lisa Nethery of Eminence, KY, one brother; Larry Hughes of Shelbyville, KY, six grandchildren; Jordan Oray, Lenny Oray, Brennan Oray, Tyler Dees, Ayden Newman and Abagail Clubb and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband; Roger Glenn Sanford.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 14, 2023, at Sholar-Riley Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Downing officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until time of the service, at the funeral home.
