He graduated from Shelby County High School in 1962 and was later drafted into the United States Army. In December of 1964, he vowed to love and cherish his wife, Sue, with whom he shared over 61 years of life with, creating a bond that will never be broken. A lifelong Baptist, Buddy was a faithful member of Christiansburg Baptist Church. A hard worker, who retired with over 30 years at Ford Motor Company; he was a farmer, raising tobacco and cattle; a logger, and for fun he enjoyed selling vegetables and mums. In his retirement years, Buddy drove for his many friends in the Amish community, taking them across the country to visit family.
