Helen (Aldridge) Bramblett, Age 84 of Orville, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Signature Healthcare of Spencer County. Born on Friday, April 18, 1941, in Franklin County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Lillian (Terrell) Aldridge. The widow of Gayle Thomas Bramblett, they married on October 3, 1959, building a happy life together with their four children. A longtime member of Orville Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School and was involved with WMU, vacation bible school and more. Helen was employed for several years as a secretary for the driver’s license department at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, before she came home to raise her children and care for many others. A natural caretaker and mother, she not only kept hers, but countless others throughout the community. Known as “Mama Helen”, the door to her house and her loving arms were always open and welcoming. A tremendous cook, she loved providing a plate full for her family and friends, never letting you finish before asking if you wanted more. She will be remembered for her delicious green beans, chocolate pies and fudge during the holiday season, just to name a few. Helen had a competitive side to her. She enjoyed playing horseshoes and cornhole, in addition to cheering on her beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats. One of her favorite past times was tending to her beautiful flowers in the yard. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death and greatly missed her sons, Gayle Scott and Bradley Ray Bramblett, as well as her sisters, Nellie Snow, Elizabeth Moffett, Lois Stacy, Geneva Hatcher, Audrey Baker, Myrtle Thompson, and Lula Belle LeCompte, and brothers, Vernon, Tommy, Billy and Alex Aldridge.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Hutcherson (Greg) of Pleasureville, and Jennifer Johnson (Jim) of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Margaret Bailey of Frankfort; grandchildren, Clarissa Whitaker (Mat) of Waterloo, Illinois, Lindsey Alberts (Alec) of Louisville, and Whitney Bramblett (Scott Richards) of Buffalo, Kentucky; 9 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Noah, Micah, Sawyer, Bailey, Jasper, Radley, Amora, and Matilda; and several nieces and nephews.
