LaRonda (Humphrey) Banta

LaRonda (Humphrey) Banta, Age 49 of Eminence, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center after a courageous battle with non-small-cell lung cancer. Born on Sunday, March 20, 1977, in Bluffton, Indiana, she was the daughter of Nora (Hellard) Willard and the late Kenny Ray Humphrey. A true person, LaRonda loved people and had a multitude of friends. A strong independent woman, she was strong willed and stubborn like her mother. She worked hard and provided for her two boys as a quality control specialist at Ficosa for over a decade. Most recently she was employed with the Voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation in Shelbyville. LaRonda attended Point Pleasant Christian Church, giving and dedicating her life to her Lord Jesus Christ this past July. She enjoyed swimming in the pool, hanging out with her dogs, Jackson and Piper, but most of all she loved to fish. Any chance she could, she would be on the bank of a pond with a fishing pole in her hand.

Her contagious spirit and loving memory will be cherished by her sons, Anthony Groves of San Diego, California, and Trea Banta of New Castle; mother, Nora Willard (Walter Rucker, Jr.) of Pleasureville; brothers, Phillip Humphrey (Tracy Roberts) of Shelbyville, and Kenny Ray Humphrey, Jr. of Bluffton, Indiana; sister, Megan Lea of Bluffton, Indiana; and aunt, Wanda Payton of Bagdad.

In accordance with LaRonda’s wishes, she will be cremated, and the family will hold a celebration of life at 1 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Point Pleasant Christian Church. Friends may visit at the church from 10 AM until the time of service. With care and professionalism, arrangements are under the direction of Beckley Funeral Home.
