Marvin Douglas Downey, Jr.

Marvin Douglas Downey, age 91, of New Castle, died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Baptist Health, LaGrange. He was born March 8, 1927 in Lockport and was the son of the late Marvin Downey, Sr. and Ida Bell Moppines Downey. He was a tobacco and cattle farmer.

He is survived by two sons: Marvin Douglas Downey (Sandi Hayden) of Eminence, and Walker Ray Downey of Pendleton; five daughters: Ruby Murphy of Carrollton, Mary Catherine Downey of Pleasureville, Barbara Raisor ( James) of Pleasureville, Froine Cox (Butch) of Pleasureville, and Patricia Cundiff of Pleasureville; two brothers: Ray Downey (Bonnie) of Pleasureville, and Ed Downey of Franklinton; one sister: Myrtle Downey of Pleasureville; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
