Robert Earl “Bobby” Snook, Age 79 of Smithfield, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Baptist Health LaGrange Hospital with his devoted wife by his side. Son of the late Leslie Thomas and Dorothy “Pearl” (Parker) Snook, he was born on Monday, July 29, 1946, in Carrollton, Kentucky. A lifelong mechanic, Bobby helped many friends and family around Eminence fix their cars around Eminence in the shop next to Godbey’s filling station. He carried his mechanic skills with him throughout his long career at Ford Motor Company in Louisville, retiring with 30 years of service and membership in the UAW. While not working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. After his retirement, he and Joyce made many memories traveling throughout the country and abroad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Polly Maddox, grandson, James Warner and great-grandson, Waylon.
His survivors include his wife of 46 years, Joyce (Thurman) Snook of Smithfield; Daughter, Samantha Korkosz (Steve) of Charlotte, North Carolina; Sons, James “Jimmy” Warner of Smithfield, Jason Warner (Libby) of Eminence, and William “Will” Snook of Smithfield; sister, Evelyn Williams of Muncie, Indiana; Brother-In-Law, Robert Thurman of Eminence; Grandchildren, Morgan, Marissa, Andrew, and Lucas; Seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Bobby was cremated and a celebration of life will be held after the holidays. To honor Bobbys’ memory, the family asks memorial contributions to be made to the Henry/Trimble County Animal Shelter, Post Office Box 202, New Castle, Kentucky 40050. With care and professionalism, arrangements are under the direction of Beckley Funeral Home.
