Sonia Lynn (Ayers) Way, Age 55 of Pleasureville, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital with her dedicated and loving family by her side, following a lengthy illness. Born on Saturday, December 13, 1969, she was the daughter of Edna Mae (Cox) Ayers and the late James Douglas Ayers. A lifelong member of Union Baptist Church, her faith and service to her community were evident throughout her life. Within the church she taught Sunday School, led activities in the women’s ministry and served as church secretary. Sonia was an administrative assistant at the Kentucky State Police Headquarters for several years before her illness caused her to step away. A lady who loved ball games, she cheered her kids on for years, as well as the Kentucky Wildcats and the Indianapolis Colts. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing Tetris, collecting little bear figurines and watching butterflies. Sonia’s life revolved around her family. A natural caretaker, she spent every second, of every day, thinking about her husband, children and grandchildren. Sacrificing to provide them with all that she could. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Lewis Hardin, Lonnie Clifford Hardin and Pete Ayers.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Way of Pleasureville; daughter, Cassy Edgerton (Austin) of Pleasureville; sons, Damon Ayers of Bloomfield, Indiana, Brack Way (Caitlin) of Pleasureville, Charles Allen Way of Warsaw, Jeffery Travis Way of Beaver Dam; mother, Edna Mae (Cox) Ayers of Defoe; sister, Misty Stone of Pleasureville; brothers, Doug Ayers (Sarah) of Defoe, Bobby Hardin (Betty) of Defoe, Donnie Hardin of Louisville, Jackie Ayers of Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
